ABOUT US
"Our main goal is to breed springers fit for function"

We are a young couple living in the middel of Norway with our children - Ida Marie and Vilde. The dogs are a big part of our familiy, living with us as familiymembers. As our nearest neighbour, we have the fields and the woods, an opportunity we use as much as we can to train and exercise with the dogs.
Our house
In 2006 we got our kennel prefix registrated – Winton. The idea for this prefix we got by reading the history of our breed. In 1902 the English Springer Spaniel was registratet by The Kennel Club in England, and they could start taking CCs at the shows. The first showchampion in England was bred by a man called Mr. F. Winton Smith – and that name gave us the idea!
Our goal is to breed Springer Spaniels that fits our understanding of the breed standard. We think it is very important to take care of the original abilities our breed had from the begining, and not forgetting that it is a working dog – something they also should look like.

A springer in really good contition – both in mind, body and coat, is a pleasure to see!

Our interests with the dogs are many – dogshows are one of the biggest. It is mostly Vanja that shows the dogs, but Dag Harald is helping if he has to. Bloodtracking and tracking generally, is something that Dag Harald is most found of, but Vanja also tries her best to take part of this sport J Training the dogs for own hunting, and field trial tests, we both enjoys! Seeking, watherwork, retriving and obedience are things we work with, and we try our best to learn as much about this as we can.
Our conclusion is that the English Springer Spaniel is the perfect breed for us!
